Ingredients:

  • 1 tbsp. Cocoa powder
  • 1 tbsp Essblend Choco-spice protein powder
  • 2 tbsp peanut butter
  • 4 pieces Medjool dates, blended
  • 2 tbsp coconut oil
  • Handful of hazelnuts
  • 100 g dark chocolate (sugar-free)

Method:

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the cocoa powder, protein powder, peanut butter, blended Medjool dates, and 1 tbsp coconut oil. Mix well until you get a dough-like consistency.
  2. Take a small handful of the dough and flatten it slightly. Place one hazelnut in the middle, then gently shape the dough into a ball, ensuring the hazelnut is completely covered. Repeat this process until you've used all the dough.
  3. Place the balls on a tray lined with parchment paper and transfer them to the freezer. Let them chill for about 10 minutes to firm up.
  4. Melt the dark chocolate with the remaining 1 tbsp coconut oil. Once melted, stir in some crushed hazelnuts for an extra crunch.
  5. Take the balls out from the freezer. Dip each ball into the melted chocolate mixture, ensuring it's evenly coated. Place the coated balls back on the parchment-lined tray.
  6. Once all the balls are coated, place the tray back in the freezer and let the them set for at least 30 minutes, or until the chocolate coating is firm.
  7. Once set, your homemade Ferrero Balls are ready to be enjoyed! Serve them as a delightful dessert or enjoy them as a midday snack with a cup of tea or coffee. Store any leftovers in an airtight container.
