She Talks: Finding Inner Balance – A Conversation with Fruzsina Dunai
Welcome to the second episode of She Talks, our ongoing interview series where we sit down with inspiring women to explore honest perspectives on wellness, balance, and personal growth.
This time, we’re talking to Fruzsina Dunai – yoga teacher, event organizer, and community builder – about her journey through movement, mindfulness, and finding harmony both on and off the mat. With a calm presence and a deep understanding of what it means to connect with ourselves, Fruzsi shares how she blends ancient practices with modern life, and what wellness truly means to her.
Let’s dive in.
✨ Do you have a morning or evening ritual that feels like a little gift to yourself? Something that grounds you for the day or helps you truly unwind?
I truly love my daily routines; they give stability to my anxious self, so ideally, my morning looks somewhat like this:
• After waking up, I hydrate with a glass of warm water, then make matcha and prepare breakfast.
• I let fresh air in the room and prepare my vitamins.
• I meditate for 10-15 minutes, then pray for my loved ones, our family, and our health.
• While drinking my matcha, I usually reflect in my journal on the following questions:
o How did I sleep last night?
o How do I feel emotionally?
o What does my soul long for? (I try to give this to myself that day!)
o What am I grateful for today?
o What day of my cycle am I on?
I try to avoid social media and emails during the first hour after waking up. I like to use the “Do Not Disturb” mode on my phone during this time, or I turn it off if I have the chance.
✨ Even on the busiest days, what are the small self-care habits you never skip—your personal non-negotiables?
Reading completely relaxes me, it takes me to a whole different world. It makes my mind slow down and I sleep much better after reading a few pages. I just bought a an alarm clock for my nightstand and I’m obsessed with it – it allows me to turn off my phone in the evening and not bring it to our bedroom, so there’s no temptation to scroll before falling asleep!
✨ What kind of movement makes you feel most at home in your body? Is there an activity that brings you pure joy?
The modern style of yoga that I offer to my clients is something that I truly enjoy: flowing, undulating movements, with permission, ease, scented candles, essential oils, and face mists, which help set the mood for yoga, relaxation, and bring our focus to the present moment.
✨ Do you have a wellness mantra or affirmation that you turn to when you need a little reset?
There are plenty of them, but these are my current favorites:
- I am grateful for this moment.
- I am present in this moment.
✨ Keeping it real: what’s one aspect of health, self-care or wellness that you’re still working or would love to get better at?
I feel like there’s always room to grow and evolve! Most people are surprised when I share with them that I am an anxious person, because I’m involved in organizing yoga events and my job is to teach people. I actively communicate this because I believe it makes me more authentic for my clients, as I go through the same challenges just as they do, and to emphasize that my days are not just ‘zen’ either. Another thing aspect I’m working on is my perfectionism, especially when it comes to my work. Over the past few years, I’ve made a lot of progress and I actively remind myself that 'Done is better than perfect, because perfect will never be done.' (This quote is from József Végh.)
✨ And finally—what’s your favorite Essa product, and how do you weave it into your daily routine?
The Essa World Collagen is incredibly refreshing, I usually drink it after meals to satisfy my sweet tooth and I also make a glass for my husband because he loves it too! It comes with me to every yoga event, and my clients are all about it as well!
